A journal with no account
Urtudu is a journal and day planner for iPhone that works with no account. There is no sign-up and no login, and Urtudu has no server holding your entries.
Where your journal lives
Everything you put into Urtudu (entries, moods, tasks, notes and photos) is stored in a private database on your device, protected by iOS. What you write never leaves your phone.
If you use Apple’s device backup, the app’s data is included in your own backup like any other app, under your own Apple account. Urtudu does not run its own backup or sync.
What you can do with it
- Export: Settings → Your data → Export gives you one file with everything. It goes only where you send it.
- Delete: Settings → Your data → Delete all local data, or delete the app. There is no copy anywhere else to delete.
- Move to a new iPhone: your journal comes along with Apple’s device backup or transfer, like the rest of your phone.
The trade-off, plainly
No account means no sync between devices. If a phone is lost and there is no Apple backup of it, the journal on it is gone. Export gives you a file you can keep wherever you like.
What about purchases?
Urtudu is free. The optional Pro upgrade is bought through the App Store and belongs to your Apple account, so it restores without an Urtudu login.
What does leave your phone
A small amount of non-content data goes to four services so the app can unlock Pro, update itself, and tell us whether our ads work: Apple, RevenueCat, Expo and Meta. None of it includes anything you wrote. The privacy policy lists every item.
Free for iPhone, with an optional Pro upgrade. On the App Store in the United States.
